Special Note: I've decided to move the Izzy Video Wiki to Wikia. Why would I do this? There are a number of reasons, but some of the main ones are:
- I was getting spammed like crazy when I hosted my own wiki. It was a major nuisance having to roll back pages all the time. I've heard that Wikia has much better spam blockers.
- There's a larger community here, so if you're interested in wikis, then there's likely additional wikis you would enjoy on Wikia.
- A man I respect, Andrew Baron, hosts the Rocketboom wiki at Wikia, and he's had great success with his.
- Finally, the folks behind Wikia are the folks behind Wikipedia, a resource I use every day. Since Wikia is the "for profit" end of their business, I want to support their efforts. You'll notice advertisements every once in a while. I'm absolutely fine with that. They need to make money for all the crazy amount of effort they have put in to Wikipedia, Wikia, and so on.
I'm excited about this new community. Please consider being an editor here. I will frequently edit material, create new articles, and try to make this a valuable resource. But it doesn't matter how much effort I personally give, if many people contribute, the overall effect would be much greater. - IzzyVideo 02:37, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
